Position Summary Position Summary & Objective Limelight Hotels is a quickly expanding Aspen Skiing Company brand with a focus on adventure and casual luxury. This sales position is responsible for increasing year-round overall top line revenues through development of group business for 10 or more guest rooms through proactive and reactive sales of guestroom blocks, events, and group business. This position will report to the Director of Sales. Sales manager may represent additional ASC properties when appropriate. Service Standards * Eye contact should be made at a distance of no less than 10 feet from every guest. * A genuine smile should be offered at a distance of no less than 5 feet from every guest. * Employees should build rapport with guests during any conversation, if the guest responds to the initial statement with a conversational demeanor. * Guest last name is used effectively, but discreetly, as a signal of recognition as least once and not more than twice during any conversation with guests. * Before concluding conversations, the guest is verbally offered additional assistance with a statement relevant to the guest s individual needs. Essential Functions of the Job * Responsible for developing sales strategy to drive top line revenues for guestrooms and catered events. * Responsible for all proactive catering event and group sales for Limelight Snowmass * Responsible for responding to all incoming catering and group leads within (1) business day of receipt * Responsible for all group guestroom contracts & call-in blocks * Completes the sales process from initial sales contact through contract signing, ensuring a smooth customer experience * Meets or exceeds individual sales goals for their territory as determined by the DOS * Conducts all Group and Catering site tours (includes covering for other Group Sales Manager s as needed) * Operates within the sales strategy and parameters developed by the DOS and actively participates in the development of said strategy * Participates in all sales/events department meetings as instructed by the DOS * Able to work five days per week and be available by appointment on Weekends and Evenings as needed * Able to travel as needed for business within the assigned sales region * Participates in pre-cons, builds BEOs and Resumes for all vertical accounts groups * Develop and continually enhance relationships with key community organizations and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase Group market share. * Act as liaison with other departments in the hotel via weekly meetings to provide information in a timely manner and ensure group and catering needs are carried out as contracted. * Prepare and analyze Banquet Event Orders, communicate effectively with customers, managers and associates to ensure that all room set-ups, equipment, supplies, staffing and menus meet/exceed customer s expectations. * Checks in with clients while on-site or in town * Uses Delphi to track sales efforts as well as complete & detailed notes * Follows up post event with Manager(s), reviews event recap notes from banquets & event manager * Follows up with a formal thank you to the client, continues with next steps for rebooking * Covers counter-part s when on vacation or traveling for business * Conducts themselves within the parameters of LL service expectations at all times, providing clients & team members with exceptional, anticipatory & thoughtful service at all times * Works with accounting and operations teams to ensure correct and timely billing for groups * Assists with other duties as assigned by the DOS and Senior Sales Manager as needed * Works with PR and Marketing managers, DOS and Senior Sales Manager as needed to enhance visibility through website and social media channels * Promotes and sells additional ASC properties when appropriate and as Limelight expands to new markets. Knowledge: * Thorough knowledge of the sales process from lead through proposal, contract and follow up. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Sales/Contact Database (Delphi) and PMS (SMS) operation knowledge. * Existing relationships with planners, agents and others who have business for The Little Nell and Limelight Hotel a plus. Attributes: * Must be able to live and work full time in Aspen/Snowmass-based office. * Prefer experience in hotel sales in a destination resort or related industry. * Aggressive, outgoing and self-motivating individual with pleasant personality. * Ability to work independently, exercise initiative and to identify and solve problems and to deal with unexpected issues and to follow up to completion. * Must be a strong team player and be able to deal courteously and effectively with all levels of staff and management and external agency partners to work towards overarching hotel and ASC team goals. Additional Job Duties * Ensure that your Manager is aware of guest comments and concerns. * Report to shift on time. * Treat others as you would expect to be treated. Be courteous to guests and co-workers. * Comply with all policies and procedures for the Front Office Department, Limelight Hotel, and Aspen Skiing Company. * Be familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures. Assist in the event of an emergency and/or security event as directed by management. * Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand. * Follows all LL/ASC T & E guidelines & budgets when entertaining Working Conditions and Physical Requirements * Able to stand high levels of stress and multitasking in fast paced environment. * Indoors v Outdoors - Indoors 95% of the time, Outdoors 5% of the time. * Standing v Sitting - Sitting 90% of the time. * Work Environment -. Working as part of a team; working AM, PM & overnight shifts. Working holidays. Overtime may be required due to business need. * Physical Requirements Ability to push/pull & carry luggage and other items up to 50lbs. * Constant reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing (near, far, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision). Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, tasting, smelling. Dealing with noise of lobby area as well as phones. Education, License/Certifications & Skills * College degree required * Previous front desk experience helpful * Ability to multi task and prioritize Language Skills * Excellent written and spoken English. Experience * Prior guest service experience is required. * 3+ years in hotel group sales preferred. * Experience in writing marketing plans, budgets, proposals, contracts, etc. preferred. * Experience with computer systems and software programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, Delphi and Property Management Systems.
