Submit your application today We look forward to hearing from you Basic Function: Overall goal is to independently run and troubleshoot, with little assistance, multiple spindle machines to produce precision parts according to customer specifications within company standards for safety, quality and productivity. Essential Functions: + Independently operate and troubleshoot one or more multiple spindle screw machines, including loading bar stock into feed mechanism, to perform series of machining operations on metal bar stock. + Perform tool, holder and/or attachment adjustments and changes and sharpen tools as necessary to maintain part quality. + Read blueprint and job order for such information as dimensions, tolerances and number of workpieces to be machined. + Perform machine preventive maintenance (PM) per work instructions, including clearing chips from machining area and maintaining proper oil and/or coolant levels. + Assure parts meet customer specifications by measuring parts per inspection plan and submit 1st piece inspections to Quality Assurance personnel for approval. + Enter Statistical Process Control (SPC) information as required and properly respond to out of control conditions. + Alert Quality Assurance personnel or manager/supervisor if there are any questions/concerns regarding part quality. + Complete all required paperwork per company procedures, including, but not limited to routing cards, tool change logs, and count sheets. + Properly identify parts and enter into companyA?s manufacturing information system. + Communicate all helpful and relevant information daily to colleagues running the machines on the other shifts to ensure smooth shift transitions. Additional Responsibilities: + Train and assist Machine Operators as needed. + Assist Setup personnel with machine setups as needed. + Maintain proper housekeeping including, but not limited to keeping work area clean, neat and orderly, keeping floors clean and free of oil and chips. + Perform all safety inspections to equipment daily and using proper machine guards and lifting techniques. + Follow all company policies and procedures, including all safety rules, per Employee Handbook and as instructed. Special Attention to the Following Safety Policies: + Personal Protective Equipment + Lockout/Tagout + Emergency Response and Evacuation + Ergonomics and Lifting Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: + Ability to perform all of the responsibilities of a Machine Operator. + Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, inspection plans and other production documents. + Ability to use and interpret most precision measuring gauges, including, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers and comparators. + Ability to sharpen and adjust tools, adjust holders and attachments. + Ability to troubleshoot most machining problems without assistance. + Have basic knowledge of shop math. + Have basic knowledge of tooling and metal cutting properties. + Have basic knowledge of machine sensors including, but not limited to drill/tap sensors or short part detectors. + Works well individually and in a team. + Can proficiently use a computer for data entry. + Can proficiently use hand tools, including, but not limited to, hammers, screw drivers and wrenches.
