For sale is my 2008 Kawasaki KLR 650 with 10.5k miles. This is the ultimate desert touring bike for the money, and is a fun around town commuter as well. I have upgraded just about everything that can possibly fail on this thing, and done several other modifications that make it a pleasure to ride, and a step above a stock KLR.

10 gallon IMS tank, replaces delicate tank shrouds that are prone to breaking, and provides a range of 500+ miles
Subframe bolts upgraded, breakage of stock bolts cripples the bike, not ideal in the middle of the desert
Happy Trails rear master cylinder guard installed, protects this delicate brake component if you put it down
Doohickey upgraded; failure of the stock doohickey will destroy the engine
Fuel enrichment circuit connector upgraded to machined metal part; failure of the stock, plastic connector results in a lean mixture
Happy trails skid plate installed, this metal part replaces the stock plastic one, and provides better protection to the oil drain plug
Seat concepts aftermarket seat, significantly more comfortable than the stock seat
Heated grips
Zero gravity tall windshield installed, sends the wind overhead making for a much more comfortable ride at highway speeds
Rox bar risers, putting the controls in a more comfortable position
Pannier mounts with removable panniers; the panniers are hard case and can be bolted to the frame for added security
IMS extended shift lever
Aftermarket front fender
IMS super stock foot pegs, significantly bigger, more secure, and more comfortable than the rubberized stock foot pegs
Magnetic, low profile oil drain plug
All body parts coated in bed liner
Sealed battery installed 2 years ago
Battery leads installed, allowing to hook up a charger, heated suit, or battery maintainer

The entire engine was stripped and rebuilt last summer in order to repair damage to the oil drain plug threads (a relic from the previous owner), now in perfect working order. The engine was inspected during breakdown, and was clean and damage free. All gaskets and fittings were replaced according to the factory recommendations. Water pump seals were replaced less than 50 miles ago. Oil and coolant both have less than 50 miles on them, with a brand new oil filter in place. Carb was disassembled and inspected less than 100 miles ago, and is as clean as a whistle. I have been meticulous with the maintenance, with oil changes every thousand miles since I purchased it. Tires are at 50% tread.

I believe I have some extra oil filters floating around somewhere that I can throw in, as well as the Clymber manual, which explains in full detail, with pictures, how to do any and all maintenance and repairs.

I have spent the last two years and several thousand dollars building this thing up to be a great all-around motorcycle, and am now unfortunately moving, and won't have space to keep it. My loss is your gain, come give this thing a good home!

Let me know if you have any questions about components or otherwise, and come take it for a test ride (please bring a copy of your motorcycle endorsed license). Title is in hand, CASH, IN PERSON TRANSACTIONS ONLY, don't bother asking if I will accept cashiers checks, or ship it, or anything else, because I won't.
