Job Description An electrical contractor serving central Minnesota and the Twin Cities Metro is seeking licensed journeymen electricians to join our team. Benefits include a four day work week (Mon-Th or Tues-Fri), Paid time off, Paid holidays, a company matching retirement account, medical and dental reimbursement, use of a company van (journeymen only), uniforms (ARC flash rated uniforms) and power tools. Compensation based on experience. We compensate generously for quality employees. WE PAY TOP DOLLAR. Qualified applicants will have 1 year of journeyman experience with a minimum of 2 years working in commercial or industrial settings. Successful candidates will be well versed in troubleshooting industrial equipment, and be knowledgeable of all appropriate local and national codes. Ideal candidates will have experience in the installation and repair of control and distribution devices (motors, relays, switches, etc.) Candidates may be asked to complete a company paid background check, drug screen, and physical examination. All final job offers are contingent on passing some or all of these checks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, lighting equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints. Install and modify electrical panels, raceways, and enclosures. Install and repair control and distribution devices, including motors, VFD’s, relays, switches, thermostats, etc. Install and connect power, wiring, cables, conduit, etc. for machines and equipment in new and existing facilities. Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment. Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using any combination of rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, fittings, pipe threaders, and conduit benders. Complete work orders per company standard. Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates. Maintain accurate records on material and labor used on work order forms and packing lists. Inspect jobs before and upon completion for safety, document concerns, and ensure areas are clean. Management and training of one or two apprentices. Professional and courteous communication with clients, vendors, and coworkers. NON - ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION: Journeymen must possess a valid journeyman electrical license All applicants must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license (class D or higher with a preference for DOT certification and medical card) and a clean driving record. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors, starters, contactors and lighting systems Knowledge of local electrical codes Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to perform mathematical calculations Ability to diagnose and resolve problems Ability to use hand and power tools Knowledge of and adherence to acceptable safety procedures while on the job Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with internal and external clients and co-workers Journeymen must be able to work independently Must have good documentation and organization skills PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year of experience in the field with two years of experience in commercial or industrial settings PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to work outside for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, climbing, stooping, bending, and routine lifting of up to 50 pounds. The ability to properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) including the required use of hard hats, work boots, eye protection, and hearing protection WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and may be exposed to weather conditions with high temperatures and low temperatures below 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places, and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles. While working on a job site the employee may be in areas with heavy foot traffic. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be loud at times when clients are operating equipment.
