The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University seeks a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Theatre History starting fall 2018. The successful candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Theatre History in a large program offering bachelor\'s degrees as well as MFA degrees in directing, dramatic writing, and design. Teaching responsibilities include a two-semester undergraduate theatre history sequence, and graduate theatre history courses including: Backgrounds in Modern Drama, Dramatic Theory and Criticism, Contemporary World Theatre, and Classical and Renaissance Drama. Required qualifications: Ph.D. in theatre history or related emphasis; Successful university-level teaching experience (faculty of record, student teaching accepted); Strong publication record in area of theatre history/criticism/performance studies or related emphasis Administrative skills Record of collegiality Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years of successful university-level teaching in the area of theatre history Experience teaching at the graduate level Active in National Theatre Associations Interest in working with a diverse student population and development of multi-cultural curriculum Additional Required qualifications for rank of Associate Professor: Have held rank as assistant professor Consistent record of publications Seven years\' university theatre program teaching experience To be eligible for hire at the associate professor rank, candidate must meet the requirements for that rank. The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and department established standards.
