Position Summary: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of the Bank's deposit or loan products. This requires a thorough knowledge of bank operations and the ability to work with numerous Finance & Accounting groups to resolve issues between the two entities. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Reporting Work with the PeopleSoft group and Financial Reporting to ensure the general ledger and related financial reporting structure is accurately maintained Supervise and assist with the compilation of financial information for regulatory and SEC reporting. Maintain working relationships and act as the liaison between corporate accounting groups to ensure that data provided from non-PeopleSoft software (FDR, Principia, etc.) is accurately reflected in the general ledger Assist with the month-end and year-end close of the Bank's financial information ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with corporate mandated deadlines 2. Internal Controls Research and implement new accounting standards and controls, as necessary Ensure staff is following prescribed Sox controls on a routine basis Institute and maintain planning and internal control procedures to ensure sound financial management and internal accounting controls, consistent with organizational policy and regulatory guidelines Oversee semi-annual testing of all Sox controls. 3. Audit Assist with preparation for all accounting related regulatory exams, as well as internal and external audits. Assist auditors during examination for items relating to the deposit, cash, and investment areas. 4. Personnel Management Perform supervisory functions including: training, prioritization, upholding corporate policies and procedures, annual goal setting and reviews for assigned staff 5. Project Work Complete special projects as requested by management Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: 5+ years general accounting experience including reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger entries. 5+ years experience with Accounting GL Software 3+ years of staff management Solid technical accounting experience Industrial Bank or Financial Services experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of GAAP principles Understanding of Sarbanes Oxley requirements a plus Microsoft Excel, Access #LI-MM1 EEO Employer Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity.
