Position Summary:The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of the Bank's deposit or loan products. This requires a thorough knowledge of bank operations and the ability to work with numerous Finance & Accounting groups to resolve issues between the two entities.Key Responsibilities:1. Financial ReportingWork with the PeopleSoft group and Financial Reporting to ensure the general ledger and related financial reporting structure is accurately maintainedSupervise and assist with the compilation of financial information for regulatory and SEC reporting.Maintain working relationships and act as the liaison between corporate accounting groups to ensure that data provided from non-PeopleSoft software (FDR, Principia, etc.) is accurately reflected in the general ledgerAssist with the month-end and year-end close of the Bank's financial information ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with corporate mandated deadlines2. Internal ControlsResearch and implement new accounting standards and controls, as necessaryEnsure staff is following prescribed Sox controls on a routine basisInstitute and maintain planning and internal control procedures to ensure sound financial management and internal accounting controls, consistent with organizational policy and regulatory guidelinesOversee semi-annual testing of all Sox controls.3. AuditAssist with preparation for all accounting related regulatory exams, as well as internal and external audits. Assist auditors during examination for items relating to the deposit, cash, and investment areas. 4. Personnel ManagementPerform supervisory functions including: training, prioritization, upholding corporate policies and procedures, annual goal setting and reviews for assigned staff5. Project WorkComplete special projects as requested by management Education:Bachelor's DegreeExperience:5+ years general accounting experience including reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger entries.5+ years experience with Accounting GL Software3+ years of staff managementSolid technical accounting experienceIndustrial Bank or Financial Services experience preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of GAAP principlesUnderstanding of Sarbanes Oxley requirements a plusMicrosoft Excel, Access #LI-MM1 EEO Employer Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity.
