FOR SALE is a LIKE NEW , Smith-Victor 1200 W, portable Quartz Lighting Kit system. The system comes with two tripod stands, and two light heads with barn doors. Also includes a carrying case for the whole system. The system sets up and breaks down fast. Tripod stands adjust to 72" high and light head/unit sits above that. Very flexible for many uses.
This Lighting Kit is many years old and has been stored well. Look at the photos ---it looks like it is brand new ! When I did freelance, professional photography years ago I bought these for one big commercial job. All the interiors of six different large buildings in the Mon Valley. Six different locations, many, many rooms. So they were used ONCE inside, never used outdoors or much at all.
This lighting set was manufactured many years ago , and Made in the U.S.A. ! Smith-Victor Corp., Griffith, Indiana, U.S.A. . I have no doubt the current production units are Made in China. So, get a sturdy, well built set of Professional lights for half off that are Made in America. Plus, the good thing is this is still a current model of a Company still in business, so there is support for parts, etc. Uses standard, readily available quartz replacement bulbs. Note : When the equipment is handled properly and the bulbs properly installed ( comes with a little linen pouch to hold the quart elements when replacing them - you should never touch any quartz bulb with your bare hands. The fine oil and sweat on your skin will shorten the life expectancy of the bulb - even if your hands are 'clean.' If your hands are dirty you could have the bulb fail prematurely - even right after you put it in and it gets hot. And they do get hot !
This Quartz Lighting Kit is designed for the discriminating photographer / videographer to set up proper lighting. Very flexible. In photography or videography, lighting is EVERYTHING !
Could also be used by anyone looking for strong, portable lights - contractors, bands, event planners, etc. Very powerful. Lights up a big room like daylight or a large outdoor area.

When I bought this outfit over 20 years ago, it came in cardboard carry cases with vinyl wood grain. The system was still in the original cardboard boxes, but they have been taped and patched over the years. They are basically junk and I am replacing them with a large, synthetic fabric , generic carrying bag. The boxes are toast, but they did their job - protecting the light system for many years.
Please LOOK at the detail in these many photos. The light heads and stands look like they are brand new. Even the little red, soft rubber feet on the stands are unblemished indicating no real usage. The lettering is all intact, the heads undamaged in anyway. It functions fine and is cosmetically unblemished. Truly if any item was "like new", --- this is it !
If you are setting them up in a permanent location, it really doesn't matter, if you are going to transport them to use them, then a suitable case is a necessity. You can start with this one. If you are going to transport them a lot or be rough with them, you may want a sturdier, heavier case.
Go to a second hand store or Goodwill and look for an old rigid suitcase for $10 or $15.

They can be shipped, but I prefer they be picked up or delivered. Bulky, a little heavy, and fragile.
Asking $150 OBO. Shipping and handling local - would be $30. Any distance would require a separate quote.

Any questions, please call or e-mail thru C-List.
Thanks for looking ! ...Dave S.
