At Abatix, you are not just an employee, you are family.Job SummaryThe Customer Service Representative (CSR) is accountable for maintaining day to day customer relations and ensuring world class order fulfillment. The team member serves as a resource to customers, prospects, warehouse employees, vendors and outside sales staff. He/She shall be aligned with and support the overall goals and objectives of the entire company and actively provide input and support throughout the company. Responsibilities and DutiesSell and service customers in person, over the phone and via email, providing pricing and product application informationTake and process customer orders, provide delivery information, and follow up as requiredSource and process special orders and direct shipmentsPrepare quotes and follow up in a timely fashionPromote the learning centersStay current on product knowledgePerform vendor relations/negotiations as neededMaintain computer and software related skillsAssist customers through counter salesNotify supervisor, warehouse manager, and outside sales staff of customer issues as warrantedAssist with the companyA cents € (TM) s inventory management program when requiredMake outbound calls to generate sales as directedMaintain accurate customer contact recordsSuggest related A cents € oeadd-onA cents € items for customer ordersCommunicate new customer opportunities to supervisor and outside sales staffCommunicate with customers regarding new productsCommunicate honestly and succinctly with the purchasing departmentReview work load and prioritize work to ensure delivery times, locations, and customer requirements are consistently metResolve discrepancies regarding shipments, receipts, and all other transactionsEvaluate and recommend continuous improvement projects to supervisorParticipate in various departmental and interdepartmental meetings or training as requiredPerform other duties as necessary Qualifications and SkillsHigh school degree or GED certificate from a certified institution required2+ years prior customer service experience preferredStrong customer service skillsProfessional appearanceExcellent verbal & written English language skills are requiredPossess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalismExhibit motivation, dependability, punctuality, organization skills, and be detail orientedA team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environmentGeneral office skills including proficient computer skillsAbility to compile and decipher information in a spreadsheet format Physical Demands & Work Environment:Able to be present & punctual, with minimal absences Able to sit for long periods of timeAble to lift 25 poundsRequired to wear steel toe boots or shoes when in warehouseEyesight, verbal skills, and hearing must be adequate to enable written and verbal communication with customersTime commitments will vary with the seasons and may require more than forty hours per week. May also be called out occasionally for after hours or weekend service.
