Operations are divided into three product areas: Tube; Strip, Wire and Heating Technology; and Primary Products.Key performance areaAs the Quality Control (QC) Inspector, you will perform standard EMF measurements for incoming, in process, and final inspection on thermocouple alloys. This will involve working from standard operations procedures, verbal instructions, customer specifications, and drawings to perform set-up, in process and final EMF measures on all types of thermocouple alloys. You will also be responsible for performing other Quality Control testing of products when needed, and will be expected to obtain supervisory approval for deviations from standard procedures.Additionally, the QC Inspector will:+ Cut and tag samples from each spool and weld sample to a secondary standard+ Measure EMF values at various specified temperatures+ Record all test data+ Weigh Spools, prepare information labels and package product+ Transport spools to next operation+ Maintain good communication with supervisor by keeping him/her informed of quality, maintenance, safety, production and other related issues+ Maintain order and cleanliness in work area+ Observe all safety rules and environmental regulationsThis position is on 1st shift (7:00 AM 3:30 PM).Your profileThe QC Inspector should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 3-12 months of experience in a related position. Technical or trade skills are preferred, and you have experience with hand tools, as well as, lab experience and measuring knowledge. This role requires manual dexterity and visual and audio ability and a strong focus on safety, with adherence to safety procedures required. You are motivated, with a strong focus on the task at hand. Welding knowledge would be a plus, but training will be provided.You should also possess:+ Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to speak and read English.+ Basic math and computer skills.+ Has a willingness to work overtime and shift work as needed+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and move up to 425 lbs., bend, walk and reach.BenefitsSandvik offers a comprehensive total compensation package including a competitive benefits package of health, dental and disability insurance, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
