Everything you need to start or expand the rewarding hobby of amateur astronomy.

I am selling a Zhumell Z12 Dobsonian style 12 inch reflector/newtonian telescope including multiple accessories and a four piece set of eyepieces/lenses. I recently purchased this telescope, and though it has given me some of the most impressive planetary and deep sky views of galaxies and nebulae I have experienced due to its very large aperture of 12 inches, I have to let it go due to it being too heavy for me. The base and scope together weigh 75 pounds, so when moving it, I would recommend moving the base and tube separately unless you have a wheeled platform/moving cart. Then you can just roll it out from the garage/house to your driveway for an ultra fast setup.

The telescope is in like new condition as it has only been taken out a handful of times since purchase and I have only owned it for a few months. The reflective coating on the primary and secondary mirrors are in new, pristine condition. This scope is HUGE! It's bigger than you think and the pictures don't really do it justice. It's almost as tall as me! It's large 12 inch aperture makes deep sky objects easy to see even in light polluted skies. At a dark site, you will be amazed at how many galaxies and other deep sky objects you can see just by slewing the scope around.

The scope retails new for $800, but Zhumell ships them from the factory with lesser quality plastic collimation knobs and very weak mirror springs. This makes collimating (or aligining) the primary mirror frustrating and that frustration is compounded when you take the scope outside after getting it right it to find that its off again due to the weak springs not holding up to the weight of the large mirror. To remedy this, I purchased and installed the upgrade kit of Farpoint Astro anodized aluminum collimation knobs and heavy duty springs. The scope now holds collimation without any issues. I also upgraded the included 8x50 finderscope to a 10x50 finderscope as I found the added magnification made it easier to see the objects I wanted to point the scope to. Includes all scope accessories like the cooling fan and laser collimator. Also included are a set of four Orion Sirius plossl eyepieces that sell for $30 each. I'll also throw in a zero power red dot reflex finder to use in conjunction with the 10x power finderscope. ($40 value)

List of everything that's included

- Zhumell Z12 12" Reflector optical tube assembly. Mirror cell upgraded with Farpoint heavy duty springs & collimation knobs
- Dobsonian mounting base (rock solid while using proprietary adjustable tension bearing system for ultra smooth motion/slewing)
- Set of four Orion Sirius plossl eyepieces (25mm, 10mm, 7.5mm, and 6.3mm providing magnifications of 60x, 150x, 200x, and 240x for both low power deep sky and high power planetary/lunar observing)
- Primary mirror cooling fan and battery pack
- 10x50 finderscope (upgraded from original 8x50) with dovetail base
- Red dot finder w/ base
- Laser collimator
- 1.25" eyepiece adapter
- Eyepiece rack attached to base
- Scope and focuser dustcaps

This is a great setup for the seasoned amateur looking for a larger instrument to go deeper, or a beginner who is looking to start out with a serious scope far beyond the capabilities of common beginner or dept. store telescopes.

The price is $595 firm with no wiggle room. The scope alone with the upgrades is nearly $900. If you include the cost of the included eyepieces and red dot finder, it's over a grand. Practically a steal considering it's new condition.

Local pick up only as it is too costly to ship due to size/weight. Thanks for looking!
