**High school diploma (or GED equivalency) is required. A strong mechanical aptitude and some basic blueprint reading, basic electrical layout work, electrical wiring, and plumbing are highly desirable. ** A minimum of one year experience in component assembly is required. Appreciation for the finish of stainless and grain materials is necessary. Experiences should include knowing how to perform component assembly using standard shop tools and test equipment. Essential Job Functions: 1. Assembles cabinets and related food service equipment; meets R&D and standard production priorities; and, as required, coordinates and cooperates with other departments. 2. Unless otherwise directed, learns to accomplish tasks required in component assembly: learns how to fireproof and install the cooking pot, plumbing, and electrical wiring in electrical and gas units and hoods; learns how to wire the fan, hood control panels, power pack, and contact board and how to properly install vacuum and micro switches; learns to install and build elements and contactors, pump and plumbing, and burners and gas valves; installs fire suppression units. 3. Learns to use instruments and tools in a safe, accident-free manner; understands the dangers inherent to operating departmental equipment and the need to observe and adhere to warning signs, labels and posted directions. 4. Supports the operating philosophy of the Company including its policies and procedures; develops a strong work ethic and caring attitude: is punctual, dependable, cooperative and responsible; assists in self-development. 5. When asked to help train and develop apprentice assemblers; willingly provides direction to improve the work skills of subordinates. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS 1. Learns good safety techniques; has a good safety record. 2. Ensures product schedules are met, learns how to sustain/increase production efficiency; decrease waste and maintain good scrap control. 3. Assists in maintaining production schedules by keeping equipment in good working order and by practicing good housekeeping; work areas are free from clutter. 4. Increases understanding/knowledge: learns about Company products; learns about sheet metal fabrication and care of fabricated stainless surfaces; learns about test equipment and tools; learns about quality standards and customer satisfaction, customer needs and efficient ways to ensure maximum productivity. 5. Protects Company property from abuse, carelessness, or theft. 6. Works well with other people; appreciates the views of others; appreciates and supports the operating philosophy of the Company. 7.
