Position Overview:The Installation & Service Technician Level IV is responsible for the overall development and implementation of various installation and maintenance services. The person in this position will provide these services in the field at customer sites as well as in the HM Cragg corporate facility. Reporting Relationship: The Installation and Service Technician Level IV reports to the Director of Service and Standby SalesResponsibilities/Accountabilities: Performs additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits Performs the following work activities without supervision or direction: o Addition or removal of common systems equipment and hardwareo Addition or removal of wiring connections on non-working equipment o Lead verification and continuity testing o Analysis of job specifications, drawings, and documentation o Be able to provide work assignments to Skill Level 1 and 2 Installers o Be proficient in preparing General, Detailed, and Combined Method of Procedure's (MOP's) o Be proficient in preparing a Job Information Memorandum (JIM) o Resolve job specification and/or drawing problems without assistance o Mark and correct office record drawings o Be able to perform in-process and final quality inspections o Circuit modifications o Software additions or upgrades o Power transition work o Addition or removal of batteries o Addition or removal of circuits on working power distribution sources o Equipment testing and turn-up Has capability of being job site manager Adheres to the installation methods and standards per Telcordia GR-1275-CORE and/or customers' installation standards Demonstrates proper operation of basic tools and test equipment Supplies and organizes trucks with all equipment necessary to perform job functions at various sites. Proactively stays up to date on safety training, compliance and knowledge of HAZ MAT and DOT requirements Continually trains and develops to advance to next levels of Installation and Field Technician Conforms to all safety standards Perform other assignments as assignedRequirements: Must have a minimum of 6 years of experience or equivalent experience as determined by HMC management Ability to take direction, communication and supervision from Service Manager and assigned Project Manager Excellent communication and customer service skills Excellent attendance recordPersonal Attributes Demonstrates honesty and integrity in work and relationships Demonstrates servant-based principles with internal and external customers Demonstrates innovation/creativity in work Possesses strong work ethic and takes ownership of both company and client goals/objectives Focused on understanding, meeting and exceeding customer expectations Focused on collaboration and team work for the mutual success of the company and its employees Demonstrates a willingness to sacrifice personal time for the company as conditions warrantTravel expectations: Required travel to customer sites out of town for overnight and/or extended periods of timePosting Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 6 years of industry experience Minimum 2-year Electrical degree or equivalent experience preferred Ability to work at various heights Ability to lift 150 pounds repetitively Ability to obtain Class C Commercial Drivers License with Hazardous Material Endorsement within 90 days of hire Must pass a physical exam, background check and drug test within 90 days of hirePosition Overview:The Installation & Service Technician Level IV is responsible for the overall development and implementation of various installation and maintenance services.
