BOSTIK is hiring We are currently looking for a Senior Chemist for our Wauwatosa location/facility.

Job Responsibilities:
:Responsible for managing and planning technical work for multiple projects of moderate to high complexity as it relates to Tape and Label.
:Strong competency in test development.
:Strong understanding of application and process variables, enabling them to substitute for Applied Technology as needed.
:Skilled at the use of various project tools, such as design of experiment (DOE) and statistical analysis (JMP)
:Capable of effectively reviewing patents to help identify freedom to practice issues and work with IP experts/patent attorney to draft patent applications.
:Possesses the ability to effectively present data to audiences with various technical backgrounds, even in hostile or emotionally charged environments
:Proactively seeks missing information , whether its raw material, process, or application related, in order to drive success in a project
:Participates and possibly leads a team to address cross:functional issues or continuous improvement opportunities
:May have a direct report (chemist, technician, or intern), which includes the responsibilities of coaching, goal setting, and establishing a development plan
:Reporting to: Tape and Label Product Development Group Leader
:May, in some cases, have supervisory responsibilities of either chemists and/or technicians and is accountable for many of the day to day development activities related to Tape and Label applications within the Industrial Adhesives Division.
Job activities:
:Complete projects that positively impact the financial health of the organization
:Proactively seeks out new raw materials and has the ability to foster a deep technical relationships with technical counterparts at both current and new suppliers
:Effectively teach/train adhesive technology with a high level of understanding via presentations at customer locations and Bostiks sponsored training programs.
:Be a key Product Development contact with Applied Technology, Sales and Marketing with regards to a products formulation strategy and its positioning at a customer due to its performance characteristics.
:Work with design of experiments (DOEs) and apply statistics to validate conclusions.
:Assist in problem solving and resolve product issues associated with manufacturing defects, specifically non:conforming materials (NCMRs), and customer improvement opportunities (CIOs)
:Work with plant personnel to provide dispositions for distressed, obsolete, or stranded inventory
:Participate in cross functional teams for Kaizen Events, Charter Teams, Continuous Improvement projects, or cost saving initiatives (LEAP)
:Complete the necessary testing of new ideas and products, leading to the submission of invention disclosures or patents
:Perform with a high degree of autonomy and plan timelines accordingly, requiring less direct coaching or need for outside assistance
:Document laboratory results in the appropriate systems and databases
:Follow all necessary safety protocol and complete all required annual laboratory training
:Provide input to any gaps and drive improvements to existing systems and laboratory policies
:Act as a mentor for other, less experienced members of the Team

Implement an idea by developing a product with quality, consistent performance, and customer satisfaction in mind.
