The Program Director -Nursing Providesleadership and oversight to the vocational nursing program; encourage andsupport continuous improvement of programs and curriculum; evaluate and approveall curricular changes, advising functions, and student recruitment andretention actions and initiatives; develop and review curricular andprogrammatic initiatives. The Program Director must be able to relate well with the students, with other faculty members, andwith the administration; the ability to keep calm during difficultcircumstances, and the ability to maintain a professional attitude in theclassroom. A strong attention to school policies and procedures is essential tothis position. This ProgramDirector - Allied Health is a Full- Time position at our Killeen, TX campus. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Administrative/Compliance Expectations: Work with campus administration to ensure compliance with academic (COE,TWC, ACCSC), regulatory (OSHA, USDA), and professional accreditation (Board of Nurse Examiners); Conduct and/or participate in strategic retention initiatives asappropriate for program/campus success; Participate as directed in all faculty meetings, campustrainings/meetings, department meetings, in-services, graduations, etc.; Recruit and maintain program specific Occupational Advisory Committee;conduct meetings; provide documentation in accordance with the OAC policyguidelines; Participate as directed on the Institutional Advisory Committee; Conduct department meetings and provide feedback to Administrationregarding curriculum, textbooks and instructional materials; Faculty/Program Administration: Teach classes as needed; Assist with the recruitment, hiring, onboarding and ongoing training ofnew departmental faculty and substitute bench; Conduct faculty observations and performance evaluations in conjunctionwith the DOE as directed Student Administration: Participatein New Student Orientation including conducing program specific orientation; Conductattendance and academic advising, and administer the SAVE process; PromoteStudent Services to high-risk students and work collaborative with the SSC to promoteretention efforts Proactivelynotify administration about student issues within the department; coordinatewith Admissions and Student Services to support late-start and re-entrystudents in accordance with policy and procedure. Assistwith issues regarding transfer credits, tutoring, pre-requisite waivers, etc; Workwith the Externship Coordinator (EC) to ensure students are on task and moving towardssuccessful completion. Administerstudent discipline as directed by the Director of Education; Qualifications include,but are not limited to : Be a Registered Nurse (RN), licensed to practice in the State of Texas and meet the requirements as set forth by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas; Have been actively employed in nursing for the past five years, preferably in supervision or teaching; Have a degree or equivalent experience that will demonstrate competency and advanced preparation in nursing, education, and administration.
