Job Description:/h3:Job SummaryLos Angeles:based real estate finance company, Thorofare Capital Inc., is seeking a highly motivated Director of Asset Management to add to its growing team of professionals. The position will report directly to the Chief Investment Officer. The ideal candidate is a career oriented team:player with a positive attitude, possessing excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly. Candidates should have strong analytical skills and be an expert in auditing property level financial statements. This position requires experience in managing performing, sub:performing, non:performing loans and REO through thoughtful analysis and calculated credit recommendations that minimize risk and maximize value throughout the loan life cycle.About ThorofareThorofare is an alternative investment platform focused on the origination, servicing, and asset management of a commercial real estate bridge loans with varied size and loan term ranging from 3MM:100M and 1 to 5 years respectively. Our loan programs provide capital to qualified borrowers for transitional real estate and value add business plans via lease:up, repositioning, renovation, re:entitlement or recapitalization.Since its inception in 2010, Thorofare has successfully originated, closed and asset managed over 1.3 billion in commercial real estate loans. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Ability to monitor and identify risks at the asset and portfolio level and provide recommendations to Credit Committee through quantitative and qualitative analyses.:Experience working with distressed borrowers to devise successful loan work:outs or resolutions via loan modification, payoff, or property sale.:Act as primary point of contact for all special servicing needs and interface in a professional manner with internal and external counsel, 3rd party service providers, appraisers, and auditors.:Ability to identify, recommend, and execute a property level business plan in the event of a foreclosure by hiring general contractors, leasing teams, management companies, and investment sale professionals.:Obtain and review periodic financial statements, rent rolls and other reports from borrowers and property managers and compare to underwritten business plan.:Monitor and track property specific loan covenants such as impound draws and disbursements, mandatory pay downs, collateral requirements, credit analysis, etc.:Oversee the disbursement of reserve funds to third parties and prepare disbursement packages for approval by the Chief Investment Officer.:Obtain and review updated property condition reports from construction project monitoring firms.:Develop and distribute periodic (quarterly/annual) and ad hoc reports to management.:Provide input and assist in the due diligence process, including review of financial and operational assumptions, to support the effort of the origination and underwriting teams.:Manage and coordinate post:funding activities and the onboarding of each loan.:Monitor and ensure property tax and insurance requirement compliance.:Periodic travel to properties on an as needed basis to inspect assets. Travel is expected to be less than one week a month.:Stay informed of financial and market trends that could affect the portfolio.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field with a history of excellent academic performance.:7:15 years of real estate debt/equity or principal asset management experience.:Possess experience with and knowledge of commercial real estate investments, compliance and analytics.:Self:Starter with excellent attention to detail and with strong leadership, writing, communication, and organizational skills. :AbiSource:
