Insurance Processing Associate - Lincoln, NE

Healthcare Claims Examiners

Role Responsibilities:
- Ability to analyze and process insurance claims transactions, with a strong understanding of Claims processing, utilization of Desk Level Procedures and contract analysis.
- Properly adjudicate claims based on your knowledge of covered benefits, your critical thinking, insurance and provider contracts.
- Experience using Lifesys or similar system preferred.
- Support insurance company client by processing insurance transactions. Add, delete, modify, test data in systems based on client requests.
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of transactions to meet or exceed client Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Apply Insurance domain knowledge, theoretical concepts etc. to undertake problem solving. Develop and maintain a solid working knowledge of the insurance industry and of all products, services and processes performed by the team.
- Works from standard operating procedures to follow documented processes.
- Apply communication skills to collaborate with management or other team members as appropriate to proactively address service issues and concerns.

- Apply communication skills to request additional information from client, provider, etc and to communicate final determination.

- Must be able to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) and provide professional customer service. Must have the ability to compose, read, analyze, and interpret general business communications.

- Successful candidate must have good keyboarding skills and the ability to become proficient with company software applications/systems.

- Position requires the ability to perform mathematical calculations and the ability to apply mathematical principles to practical situations.

- Position requires the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions; Ability to apply business rules to varying fact situations and make appropriate decisions; Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities.

- High School education or G.E.D. required.


- Two years prior experience with administration of Health Claims and/or Health insurance policies.

- 2+ years of past customer service oriented experience preferred. Insurance industry or financial services industry customer service experience would be most relevant.
