FOR SALE- Shopsmith 4 inch jointer. I took this in on trade and put new bearings and set a sharpened set of knives. It cuts great again. It would be a nice addition to someone's shop and a great Father's Day present. Thereis some staining in the table top from where someone sat some drinks and the sweat left a stain ring. It does not affect the operation of the jointer. I cleaned the table & fence surfaces and put a nice coat of paste wax so wood glides smoothly over the surfaces. The paint is still in very good condition.
In the last pictures this jointer is capable of cutting rabbets much easier than with a router or other tool. Part of the setup is setting the 3 blades flush with the edge of the front table to be able to cut rabbets. I have a magnetic jig that helps set the blades dead on. I did some test cuts and there is no evidence of snipe like most jointers and planers exhibit. This means the 3 blades are set properly in relation to the tables. I flat grind the blades in side of sharpening wheel vs the round front of the stones which leaves a slight curve on the surface. The I hone the bur off the back of blades and these things are SHARP! I have cut my finger on these very deeply in past so I know from personal experience how sharp these are. The mini Mark V stand the jointer is mounted on is not included but I have the parts to build one if someone wants one. The big advantage is easier to move around than a full size machine plus no need to take apart a current set up to do an operation. I run 2 minis in my shop- one set up as sanding station and other as a saw station. Saw station has bandsaw on one end and 18 " jig saw on quill end. Sanding station has belt sander and 12 " sanding disc at moment but belt sander can run on quill end if drive hub is moved to aux spindle and then rotation is correct to push stock down onto table surface rather than lift it off table. The the other end of headstock can be used for another accessory.

Here is description of what Shopsmith jointer can do. These features make the Shopsmith Jointer safe and easy-to-use.
- Adjustable FeatherGuard protects your fingers while it holds your workpiece firmly against the fence surface, ensuring the trueness of every cut.
- Unique blade leveling system offers individual blade leveling screws that eliminate the need for match grinding all three blades to the exact same size. Sharpen or replace as many blades as you like, then adjust each blade individually.
- Easy depth-of-cut adjustments are made with a single, handy control knob. Just give it a twist for micro adjustments that are easy-to-read on the built-in scale.

SN is 43768 which translates to April 1982 manufacture date.

I also repair/refurbish Shopsmith tools. If yours is ailing give me a call. I can get it back into top working condition. I also have a couple old greenie headstocks left in excess inventory for sale as a spare or I could make a mini if desired. I also have some extra spares parts from past acquisitions mostly for M500 but have some extra 510 float and extension tables. Table throat plates, drill chucks, sanding/routing/shaping fence (see other add listed separately- I think I have 4 extra for M500).
I live in Maryville east of Blount Hospital.
