With the strength of 4000 people, our growing family of companies now addresses the entire life cycle of power and industrial processing plants.## RequirementsGENERAL SUMMARYThe IC&E; Technician is responsible for technical activities in instrumentation and control, electrical, and computer systems. The IC&E; Technician provides the technical services needed to support the reliable and continued operation of both units. The IC&E; Technician serves as an active team member who is also an environmental and safety steward.PRIMARY FUNCTIONSTroubleshoot, repair and maintain plant electrical, instrumentation, and computer equipment.Maintain and operate air emissions monitoring systems and perform associated reporting requirements.Maintains all plant IC&E; equipment to assure optimal production.Maintains all plant Instrumentation and Electrical test equipment.Assists in planning, coordinating and executing IC&E; related preventative, scheduled and forced outages activities to assure minimum down time and optimal plant operation.Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions; make recommendations for repair, and oversee as necessary.Oversees the operation and maintenance of performance monitoring system.Coordinates activities and interfaces with IC&E; contractor and vendor representatives and personnel.Assists in the development and implementation of the budget for assigned systems.Performs other duties as required by plant conditions.Effectively communicates plant status to plant management as required.Maintain various databases and effectively use standard software packages.Assist in maintaining and controlling spare parts inventory.Maintain a clean and safe shop and plant environment.Train and develop other employees in Instrumentation Controls and Electrical skills.Actively participate and assume responsibility for budget planning and control.Assist in plant operations and mechanical maintenance as required.Complete and properly document problems, repairs, and downtime.Update drawings and prints as required.Provide leadership and job coordination of contract personnel performing repairs or projects.Requisition, order, and track parts and materials needed to complete tasks.Design and install new equipment and/or system modifications.Complete the IC&E; Qualification program within one year.WORKING RELATIONSHIPSThe IC&E; Technician reports to the O&M; Manager, works in cooperation with the operating utility on matters pertaining to the daily operation of the plant and responds to direction from the acting O&M; Manager in the absence of the O&M; Manager.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSPhysical requirements include: standing on feet for extended periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing; and routinely lifting 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required.Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. \\\"On call\\\" status will periodically be required.All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post employment random drug screening.
