Medcor is looking for a talented Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner for a PRN coverage position at an occupational health care clinic located in the Eureka, CA area. The practitioner will provide clinical services for patients in the clients workplace clinic. The practitioner will work independently and will be responsible for patient intake, patient care, patient discharge and billing. The provider will deliver medical care that aligns with evidence based guidelines and standards. The position requires a good working relationship with the employer, the supervising /collaborative physician and Medcors medical leadership. The practitioner will work in close cooperation with Medcors operations leader to ensure optimal clinic operation. There are no guaranteed hours; this position is on a as needed basis. You need to have availability to cover weekday (Monday Friday) shifts. The clinic is not open on weekends. Medcor Philosophy At Medcor, you are more than just an employee you are an advocate. A typical day in the life of a Medcor Provider: Evaluation and treatment of illnesses and injuries while functioning as an advocate for both the patient/employee and the employer Provide the following services to employees, their spouses and dependents age two years and older. Participate in, support, develop and help motivate others to participate in wellness programs Ability to conduct physical exams and interpret exam results required for regulatory and policy compliance, eg, physical abilities testing, respirator fit testing, hearing conservation evaluations. Assist with pre-employment and employee drug screens. Discuss patient care with the supervising/collaborative physician, the patients primary care physician (where applicable) and other care-givers as appropriate. Compliance with CDC guidelines for vaccine storage, handling, and administration. Initial evaluation and stabilization of patients who present with illnesses or injuries that require a higher level of care or EMS transport. Complete and timely documentation of clinical care in the electronic medical record in compliance with Medcors documentation standards. Prompt, predictable attendance Provide basic CPR training and refresher training (does not need to certify individuals) Strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, ability to appropriately handle sensitive/personal medical information Able to respond to emergency/crisis situations in a calm and thoughtful manner Participates in fire drills/exercises, and assist in disaster evacuation planning as needed Meets routinely with client Human Resources and/or Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) teams to inform them of the needs or concerns of various work units or other work related trends Assist client ES&H in completing risk assessments and investigations of workplace injuries Notification to client ES&H staff of identified workplace risks or needs You Must Have a valid unrestricted Texas licensure Have an American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants (AANP / AAPA) certification Have current DEA & BLS certifications Have a positive and outgoing personality, and be a collaborative team player Be willing to go above and beyond to give excellent customer service Have occupational health experience You Should Be comfortable working in an on-site clinic environment Be comfortable and productive working with computers and EMR software Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients, clients and colleagues Culture We dont just advocate for our clients and our patients; we also advocate for ourselves.
