Location: Houma, LA, United States Education Experience: High School Diploma/GED Desired Employment Experience: Mid Career (4-10 Years) Required Travel: Up to 75% Classification Type: Permanent Classification Time: Full-time 1.0 SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES The Combo Hand Specialist works under the general supervision of the Director of Operations - Wireline, OP&A Supervisor and performs manual labor tasks in assisting the OP&A Supervisor in conducting electric wireline operations. The Combo Hand Specialist also works with the OP&A Supervisor and other crew members to perform general labor work in all aspects of OP&A operations. Essential job duties include: Supports, complies with, and participates in HSE Program. Assists the OP&A Supervisor and/or co-workers in setting up a service unit, unloading equipment, assembling, preparing tools and rigging up at a well site location. Assists the OP&A Supervisor in assembling, preparing, checking and loading equipment required for a scheduled job. Operates wireline unit to hoist wellbore tools in and out the wellbore. Uses correct procedures and performs basic routine equipment maintenance in preparation for the next job. Cleans and checks service unit tools and equipment. Maintains the confidentiality of the client's data and TETRA information. Accurately maintains explosives log on a daily basis. Assists supervisor in keeping a detailed equipment log. Insures the customer is respected and served to the best of our ability. Gathers and loads all necessary equipment, materials and parts for each job. Makes any necessary repairs to equipment, re-stocking parts and materials at the completion of each job. Interacts on the job with the customers. Insures all relevant equipment is operated and maintained in the proper manner. Contributes to certain decisions on well conditions. Performs accurate perforating and jet cutting at desired depths in addition to running and setting plugs. Assists crew members during plug and abandonment operations. Accurately sets and retrieves wireline plugs. Fishes tools from a well. Supports and participates in the organization's Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001 requirements by complying with Quality Policies and Procedures and meeting Quality Objectives. Performs other duties as assigned. HSE Roles and Responsibilities include the following: Takes an active leadership role in compliance with TETRA Safety Processes and Programs. Takes a leading role in carrying out the Job Safety & Environmental Analysis (JSEAs) using the established Best Safety Practices (BSP's). Takes a leading role in carrying out Weekly Toolbox Meetings and Behavior Based Safety (BBS) Observation process. Assists Supervisor in carrying out equipment safety inspections. Takes lead in performing Hazard Hunts to identify potential hazards in the work area. Reports all incidents, including Near Hits, to the Supervisor immediately. Assists in the investigation and documentation of any Near Hits or work-related injuries. Provides first aid treatment, if necessary. Maintains all safety training. Provides mentoring for Short Service Employees. Abides by any/all local, state and federal regulations and to company policy. 2.0 EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education with at least two years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Able to acquire an ATF license and a State of Louisiana Explosives Blaster License. 3.0 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS To perform this job successfully, a Combo Hand Specialist must satisfactorily demonstrate the following: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form when applicable. Must be familiar with the field job requirements, TETRA Organization and oil field terminology, and electric wireline. Must have thorough knowledge of well downhole configurations and characteristics. Must have knowledge of handling and building perforators, pipe cutters and CIBP. Broad knowledge of pulling and setting tools. 4.0 PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, or balance and will also frequently stoop, kneel, bend crouch or crawl and walk on uneven surfaces. The employee must be able to swing on a swing rope to board offshore and structures/vessels. Lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, and 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of hearing audio warning signals. The employee must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment, including hearing protection and safety glasses. Work on-call 24 hours per day, except on regular scheduled days off. Position requires working long strenuous hours. Position requires riding in a helicopter and/or crew boat. Position requires riding in a personnel sling/basket between vessels, structures, etc. Must be able capable of working rotating day and night shifts with a minimum of 12-hour duration. Must be able to pass the required physical examination, WorkStep work capacity evaluation and drug and alcohol test. 5.0 WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job: The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions ranging from freezing to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
