Technician, Process EngineeringGeneral Summary:Be a proactive problem solver and team leader Assist / support production and process engineering in process control improvement, equipment design and installation, cost and scrap reduction, and new product introduction through the application of a methodical problem solving discipline.Duties and Responsibilities::Be forward thinking and proactive. Look for challenges and problems before they arise and correct them.:Monitor the manufacturing process to insure quality products are produced with minimum scrap.:Take corrective action on any production line producing unacceptable quality or scrap by methodical adjustment, logical troubleshooting techniques, obtaining engineering assistance, initiating maintenance work orders, or as a last resort, stopping the line.:Document work in technical reports, lab notebooks, emails, etc.:Establish and maintain a good working relationship with manufacturing employees, production supervision, quality assurance, and engineering.:Collect/analyze data to identify and respond to process problems involving equipment, operators, and materials. Identify root cause and implement long:term corrective actions by forming/leading problem solving teams.:Communicate problem areas, special projects, and other items needing follow:up with the adjacent shift technician. Document status by writing reports and daily shift summaries.:Cover for the production supervisor as needed during vacations, etc.:Assist process engineering with new equipment startups, process changes/improvements, new product development, and troubleshooting machine problems. Assist in evaluating process equipment specifications.:Assist product engineering with development trials of new products and evaluations of new raw materials.Qualifications::Associates degree in a relevant field strongly preferred, high school diploma orequivalent is required.:Candidates must possess a strong mechanical or electrical aptitude.:Demonstrated project management experience is preferred.:Knowledge and experience with cable processes and products preferred.:Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organization, and communication skills (verbal and written) required.:Experience with statistical analysis is preferred.:Basic computer and math skills required, i.e MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Advanced computer software skills preferred, i.e Solid Works, AutoCAD, other design or simulation tools.Source:
