## DescriptionNAES Corporation is hiring for an experienced I&E; Technician to join our team at Kleen Energy Systems in Middletown, Connecticut. The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E;) Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment in the power plant and the associated facilities. The I&E; Technician performs work of high skill in the inspection repair, testing, adjustment , installation and removal of all electronic and electrical power plant equipment and systems.Kleen Energy Systems is a 620 MW combined cycle, dual fuel power plant located in Middletown, Connecticut. The facility consists of 2 Siemens SGT6-PAC 5000F combustion turbines, and 1 Siemens SST6-PAC5000 steam turbine, supplying power into the ISO New England system via CL&P; 345 KV transmission line.About NAES: We are an independent services company dedicated to delivering value to facilities across the power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, pulp & paper, and manufacturing industries. With the strength of 4000 people, our growing family of companies now addresses the entire life cycle of power and industrial processing plants.NAES offers competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package (including retirement) and promotional opportunities.## RequirementsPRIMARY FUNCTIONSPerform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems as well as emergency backup systems.Maintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipment.Forecast, inventory, and reorder spare parts to maintain plant reliability. Assist in physical inventories.Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive/predictive maintenance records.Inspect, repair, install and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, CEMS (emissions monitoring equipment), valve controllers/ actuators, plant lighting, heat trace, cathodic protection systems, transmitters, various types of sensing instrumentation, storage batteries, and work with and have significant knowledge of electrical systems (including completing switching orders packages & LOTO preparations/ requests) up to and including 18,000 volts.Conduct trouble shooting, logic forcing, remapping (writing logic) and analysis on Digital Control System, Programmable Logic Controller and SCADA systems.Communicate with vendors and contractors alike to coordinate parts procurement and services rendered as part of job requester duties.Complete other tasks as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor.WORKING RELATIONSHIPSThe I&E; Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. The I&E; Technician works in cooperation with the operations personnel on matters pertaining to the daily operation of the plant.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSPhysical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required.Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. \\\"On call\\\" status will periodically be required.All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.JOB QUALIFICATIONSAbility to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school.Graduation from an accredited Instrument Technician Program and two years work experience as a technician in a related industry desirable. Four years work experience as a technician with increasing responsibility in a related industry may be substituted for the above requirement.Experience in working with voltages up to 18,000 volts highly desirableMust have excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to work well with others and be self-directed, as well as apply creative solutions to unique I&E; problems is desirable.Must be able to work from blueprints.
