Vintage Singer Model 201-2, "A Century of Sewing Service 1851-1951" Blue Emblem, Ornate Top Spool Plate with Walking Foot.

In very good condition, several accessories and attachments included . This machine was made in 1950.
These were top of the line machines, made from the 1930's through the 1950s. This model was the most sought after model of its day as well as one of the most expensive, and has often been described as Singers best. They can easily sew heavier fabrics like Sunbrella, upholstery fabrics, light to mid-weight leather, as well as sheers etc. They were often seen in tailor shops as an alternative to a large industrial machines. A Walking Foot is included. It works great when sewing thick material. It enables the top and bottom material to move under the Walking Foot at the same speed.

201-2 Specifications: This machine has a heavy cast iron body and a potted direct drive motor. (That means no belts to replace!) It is a straight stitch machine with full reverse feed and adjustable stitch length. It comes equipped with dropping feed dogs for free hand embroidery, quilting, and darning, and takes low-shank attachments with easy screw-on feet that are very readily available. It threads from right to left for better visibility and it uses a standard 15x1 sewing machine needle.

The top load bobbin makes for easy of set-up. The potted direct drive motor provides slip free power and has no belt to replace. It has a longer arm than most domestic machine of this era giving a great area for large or bulky projects approximately 8 ¼" long by 6" high. This machine has consistent stitching at any speed. It has a reliable Singer long life front mounted light. The stitch lengths range is from 6 to 30 stitches per inch and performs flawless.

It is table top ready, or you can put it in a standard size cabinet or full size case. (I have a cabinet for it that you can have, but it isn't of the best quality) The original cabinet hinges with screws are included.

Condition: This machine has a great motor that operates as it should. It has been oiled, lubed, and adjusted. It sews beautifully as the sewing samples show. It has a great shine and is really in perfect shape. It has a nice set of decals. This machine spent all of it's 67 years of life in a folding cabinet. The Chrome parts on this machine are very shiny and bright. This is a well kept machine that has been used and well maintained.

Needles: This machine uses standard 15x1 needles and 66 or 99 class bobbins

Manual: It includes a copy of the "Service Manual For Singer Sewing Machines Classes 201 and 1200". Also the original Singer 201-2 Instruction Manual.

Attachments/ Accessories: A great assortment of accessories and attachments are included with this machine. It uses low shank attachments which are still readily available both used and new. It will come to you with a nice set of attachments in an original Singer green box.

Accessories Included:

• Service Manual
• Bobbins
• Several Feet and Attachments
• Walking Foot
• Original Hinges with mounting screws
• Extra Needles
• Singer Motor Lubricant

Please don't email me with low ball offers. This machine is a gem and still has many years of life left in it. I've truly enjoyed owning it, and am only selling because I can't justify having this and my Bernina. It's been recently serviced and is in perfect working condition.
