We Make a Difference every day with every engagement. / / /So what does a/ Transportation Construction Inspector /Supervisor at Michael Baker International do?/ As a part of our Construction Inspection Team, the Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor will help ensure the construction of highways and bridges is performed according to the plans and specifications. You will build and maintain relationships with the client managers. You will act as an agent of the client in dealing with contractors. You will be responsible to inspect contractor field activities and document the activities performed for the construction of highway and bridge projects primarily for PennDOT. Duties include enforcing contract requirements, supervising inspection staff, attend project progress meetings, daily documenting construction activities, processing payments and work orders. / / /Can you walk me through a typical day of a/ Transportation Construction Inspector/Supervisor/ /?/ The majority of your day would be spent working in the field on a construction site. You will monitor contractorA?s activities and document performance on a Project Site Activity (PSA) report. You will prepare estimates for payment to contractors. You will prepare work order authorizations to increase or decrease construction items. You will coordinate activities with the contractor. You will use a tablet computer to enter documentation and for project references such as plans, specifications and construction standards.
