This beautiful 1974 Starcraft aluminum boat spent nearly all of its life in freshwater, in Iowa and Illinois. Brought down to Florida last year, it's only been out about ten times in the Gulf, and every time the engines were flushed with fresh water afterwards. So this is really a freshwater boat, and you can tell as soon as you see it. It's got a 65 HP Mercury outboard and a 6 HP Johnson kicker, with a handy removable connector so that if you just want to idle down canals or troll you can shut off the big motor and steer like normal using the small motor.

This exceptional package comes with everything you need to get out on the water today. Got the kids coming home for the holidays? Why not take them out water skiing or fishing? Not only is all the equipment that you need included, there's even extra gas already mixed in a spare tank to augment the two tanks on the boat.

The only reason I'm selling this is because I simply don't get around to using it enough. After sitting for several months, covered on my boat lift, I've decided to part with it. When I went out to put it in the water for my last ride down to the nearby boat ramp, it fired right up just like new. And this light aluminum boat really scoots with 65 horses pushing it.

I did make a couple changes to the original gauges on the dash: I installed a voltmeter and two USB ports so that you can run an iPad or other navigation equipment with ease. And I installed a custom light panel to control the boat's lights, as you can see on the pictures. A couple of the buttons that operate the two small cabin lights have to be replaced (I can show you where to buy them online), but the buttons that operate the running light, anchor light, and compass light all operate so you won't have any problem with the authorities.

This boat spent nearly all its life with its original owner in Iowa till he sold it a few years ago when in his eighties. And both previous owners kept it garaged. I've got most of the original documentation, including a full service manual for the Mercury 650 outboard, and I've got a manual for the small Johnson outboard on a PDF file.

The boat's got not only a Bimini top but the full range of original canvas or plastic covers for all conceivable options, to cover the bow or the sides or whatever. And the gray cover for the entire boat is perfect, all the snaps work easily and it's great for trailering that way or storing it outside.

The trailer does have surface rust, primarily on the fenders, but it's structurally completely sound. All the rubber rollers are good and the wheel bearings were replaced just prior to its one big trip when we brought it down to Fort Myers from Illinois. The original Holsclaw trailer was renowned in its day for its smooth ride, and I can testify to that because I towed it all the way down from north of Chicago with a Toyota Corolla, and it cruised along at freeway speeds without missing a beat. I intended to paint the trailer to make it look better but never got around to it. It'd be easy enough to do, though. The trailer has a pivot option so that you can tilt it down when launching or picking up the boat. The tires are fine but it comes with a spare wheel and tire. This setup is perfectly fine to pull with anything from a Corolla on up. No need to forego the pleasure just because you don't have an SUV or a pickup truck.

The extras include everything you need to just jump in the boat and enjoy your favorite water activities:

Humminbird LCR4000 Fathometer/Fishfinder
Two pairs of water skis complete with tow ropes and harness
Boarding ladder
Four rods and reels and a bit of tackle and bait bucket with aerator
Gaff hook, in case you land a big one
Landing net, for the littler ones
Five life jackets -- four are brand new
Fire extinguisher
Flares
Spare 5-gallon fuel tank, with fuel already in it (this in addition to the already-fueled two onboard 5-gallon tanks)
Four inflatable bumpers (two are pictured with the extras, two are on the boat)
Flush muff to hook up to a garden hose and flush your outboards after being out in salt water

It's tough to find an aluminum bowrider like this at any kind of decent price, but this entire package can be yours for just $4,900. Call, text, or email if you're interested.

Note: This is a bit too large to put under your Christmas tree, but it'll make a heckuva gift.
