Department: Poultry Science About the University About the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture The Division of Agriculture is a state wide campus, with faculty based on University campuses, at Research and Extension Centers and in every Arkansas County. Summary of Job Duties Assist researchers with experiments and lab tests at Poultry Farm by taking blood tissue and fecal samples, perform sperm mobility assays, sperm analysis, artificial insemination and semen collection. Follow established guidelines with regard to animal care, biosecurity and facility maintenance and housekeeping. Assist with processing and data collection at processing plant. Performs dissection of carcasses, performs chemical sanitation in the plant and performs maintenance on the processing equipment. Assist with maintaining research at Vet Research Farm. Assist graduate students with bird work. Assist with setting up and taking down trials which includes weigh-in, feeding, keeping records. Assist researchers and graduate students with necropsies, taking tissue and blood samples, processing samples and helping with other lab work. Minimum Qualifications The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of specialized training in physical science or related field.
