For more than 160 years, Corning has applied its unparalleled expertise in specialty glass, ceramics, and optical physics to develop products that have created new industries and transformed people\'s lives.Corning succeeds through sustained investment in R and D, a unique combination of material and process innovation, and close collaboration with customers to solve tough technology challenges.Corning\'s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.Scope of Position: Manage and supervise North America customer service team responsible for 3rd party customers including day to day activities of the order management process.Day to Day Responsibilities::Ensure effective coordination of order management process to TS16949 standards for 3rd party customers including order entry, customer correspondence, transportation, and payment resolution as needed; includes direct responsibility for customer accounts:Day to day supervision of North America Customer Service team members responsible for 3rd party customers:Develop and maintain customer relationships both internal and external:Identify and resolve supply issues working across commercial/manufacturing so as to minimize the impact to the customer:Responsible for training needs for direct reports:Development and implementation of process improvements:Provide support/backup for team members as needed:Responsible for tracking and communicating team metricsTravel Requirements: 2:4 trips/year within North AmericaHours of work/work schedule/flex:time: 8:5 pm, however extended hours may be required to support the businessRequired Education: Bachelors degreeRequired Experience: 3+ years related experience as describe belowRequired Skills::Proven leadership experience (previous commercial or mfg role) that includes the ability to negotiate and resolve issues across multiple functions:Past supervision experience and possession of the ability to supervise a team of employees:Strong organizational and process skills including the ability to prioritize (own work and those of employees) and the ability to multi:task:Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with customers (internal and/or external):Effective problem solver who can work with ambiguity but make sound business decisions:Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with all levels of management:Ability to stay calm in the face of adversity and in a stressful, demanding work environmentDesired Skills::Previous experience with Peoplesoft Supply Chain or a comparable system:Customer service and/or logistics experience in a similar environment:Proficiency with computer programs like Excel, PowerPoint, and Word:Knowledge of Corning Environmental Technologies businessSoft Skills::Positive Attitude:Team player:EnthusiasticWe prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status or any other legally protected status.Source:
