This pipeline of talent has brought life:changing innovation to your fingertips for more than 160 years.Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group): Perform advanced computational fluid dynamics and multi:physics analysis using state:of:the:art commercial software. The candidate will work with engineers and scientists to support, through modeling, ongoing efforts related to equipment/process design and optimization. Areas of application may include: Optical Fiber, Life Science, Specialty Materials, or other adjacencies.Day to Day Responsibilities: Develop CFD mesh models appropriate for simulations within ANSYS FLUENT software. Set:up, perform, and post:process CFD and thermal analysis of mechanical systems and processes. Follow best practices for accurate and efficient computational modeling. Provide accurate and detailed presentations of CFD results. Attend team meetings to discuss CFD results and equipment/process improvements. Document CFD analysis and results.Travel requirements (please note if international): Domestic travel may be required.Hours of work/work schedule/flex:time: 9 am : 5 pmEducation and Experience (minimum required for consideration): Master or PhD level student who has completed at least 1 year of coursework in their respective program. Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Science and Mechanics.Required Skills (These are skills that candidates must possess): The candidate must have completed course works in heat transfer and fluid mechanics. Academic study or research experience with in:depth knowledge in computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer is required.Desired Skills (these are the skills that would be nice for candidates to possess): Advanced knowledge of CFD and multi:physics software such as FLUENT and COMSOL is desired.Soft Skills (Communication/Team/Leadership): Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are essential. Being able to work in a team environment as well as capable of working independently. Communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written formats.
