Job Classification: Full-Time Regular Endevis talent acquisition group has been hired by a Top 50 - Tier 1 automotive supplier with $4B in annual revenue near Rochester Hills to find an External Reporting Manager. Our client has positioned themselves for continued growth, with the ability to develop more focused and distinct business models, and with flexibility to pursue our different strategic plans to capitalize on industry trends. Position: The External Reporting Manager is critical to the accounting function of the organization. In addition to the main responsibilities of ensuring accurate reporting and technical guidance for the organization, the candidate in this role will be able to shape the standards and processes for the new organization. Experience: Prepare all relevant SEC Filings, including quarterly and annual reports and quarterly earnings releases. Perform accounting research for specific transactions and technical issues and document conclusions in accounting memos. Lead the implementation of new accounting standards, including the new revenue and lease accounting standards Maintain Corporate Accounting policies and update and refine as necessary based on issuance of new regulations and other developments. Provide subject matter expertise on accounting inquiries from the organization's global accounting organization. Develop presentation materials for global US GAAP accounting training sessions and other accounting issues. Support external audit and review procedures. Assist in SOX compliance documentation and testing as required. Plan, develop, and execute special projects, working with cross-functional teams as appropriate. Manage and develop direct reports. Responsibilities: 7-10 years of accounting experience, including five years of public accounting experience CPA license or equivalent Bachelor degree in accounting or finance Technical Competency: The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of US GAAP and experience in SEC reporting and project management. Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and manage direct reports. He/she should be known as an excellent leader and proven ability to work in cross-functional teams. He/she should have the capability and desire to take on broader roles in the Finance organization. Additionally, this individual should understand and manage cultural differences inherent in a highly diverse international business, naturally building relationships across the organization through collaboration, consensus building and interpersonal effectiveness. Communication Skills: This individual should have presentation skills to conduct global trainings and lead other relevant meetings. The individual should have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization including senior leadership. Also, this individual should have strong writing capabilities, including the ability to clearly and accurately document accounting positions and draft footnote and other public disclosures. Business Acumen: The individual should have the ability to understand the business implications and financial statement impacts from various transactions.
