First let me say that no animals were killed or injured in this process. These were "roadkill" animals, (sometimes referred to as "Texas Speedbumps)

So this is the full top portion of the hide or shell, it has been salt cured (I guess could be considered "rawhide" (althought it is more shell like than hide). I have used portions of these hides in jewelry pieces (inlaid into buckles, bola ties, and as dangles in earrings. I am sure that if you are looking, you have an idea how you might use it.

Dimensions are approx 12" W x 12" L. This was harvested and cured many years ago and is virtually odor free. The only thing I have done to it subsequently is to put Lexol (a leather conditioner & preservative) on the upper portion to moisturize it a bit to enhance the coloration

I have other portions of hides, ie. helmets, tails, and pieces. Most are of the same coloring, but there are a few that have darker accents. If you are interested in something else, contact me with your criteria, and I will see if I have anything suitable for you.

I am now moving and there is no place or need for these (as well as other items) so I am offering them for sale.

Check out my other items (click the link in the upper right corner of this post).
