Internal Job Number: P01908UF Description: The Division of University Outreach and Engagement, Extension Service at Oregon State University invites applications for an Outdoor School Evaluation, Assessment, and Research Coordinator. This is a full-time 1.0 FTE, 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position to be located in Corvallis, Oregon. The Division of University Outreach and Engagement at Oregon State University enhances access to enrichment and problem solving through reciprocal relationships for the exchange of knowledge and resources in partnership with individuals, communities, business, industries, government, and educational institutions. The Division includes the following units: Extension Service, OSU Open Campus, and the OSU Outdoor School. The Division is under the leadership of the Vice Provost for University Outreach and Engagement. The Extension Service engages the people of Oregon with research-based knowledge and education that strengthen communities and economies, sustain natural resources, and promote healthy families and individuals. The Extension Service has a presence in each of the Oregon\'s 36 counties. The Outdoor School (ODS) Program resides within the OSU Extension Service and advances the Extension Service\'s vision, mission, and goals through the statewide engagement of School Districts and Educational Service Districts in Outdoor School. The ODS Program helps Oregon\'s youth learn better; develop leadership, critical thinking and social skills; and exposes them to the role of scientific inquiry and applied learning. The long-term goal of this ODS Program is to integrate placed-based programs into the Oregon school system that build upon youth\'s skills in hands-on science and their abilities to be effective stewards and leaders in their community. The OES Outdoor School Program Leader has leadership and administrative responsibility for the OSU Outdoor School Program. OSU Outdoor School Program website: As Evaluation, Assessment, and Research Coordinator of OES Outdoor School Program, this person is responsible for coordinating all evaluation and related research programs related to Outdoor School. As a member of the Outdoor School team, this person will work with the Corvallis-based and statewide team members to help develop and execute a comprehensive evaluation plan. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the development of an annual Outdoor School report and participate in scholarly research and publication in order to share knowledge within and beyond the university\'s borders. Active and effective communication with staff and key stakeholders is critical to the success of this position and access to wireless services may be necessary. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Typically requires Master\'s Degree in field relevant to program focus. Requirements : Masters Degree in Education, Science Education, or related education or social science field and at least five years of relevant experience. Degree must be completed by date of application. Demonstrated quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research design and data analysis skills and experience. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills including academic/scholarly writing skills; Ability to orally present data and findings in a variety of settings. Demonstrated evidence of exceptional academic writing and prior peer reviewed/accepted publications. Excellent customer service and organizational skills. Demonstrated experience with providing oversight to budgets. Demonstrated experience in organization, decision-making, problem solving and creating a collaborative environment. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated experience in research project coordination and program management. Ability to handle multiple tasks with rigid deadlines. Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to use common computer software, data processing platforms and survey software, including the ability to use information technology and web sites. Software includes: MS Excel, Qualtrics, SPSS and NVivo data analysis programs. Demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbent is required to self-report convictions. This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver\'s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Motor Vehicle Check Requirement. Type: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
