Production-Support Senior Application Developer .NETLocation: Oak Brook, ILFull Time Permanent PositionJob Description: Primarily application enhancements and very little new developmentThe .NET Senior Application Developer on robust Financial Services and custody-accounting applications and alternative investments.This person will develop using .NET C#/VB, MSSQL, NHibernate, SSRS, TFS, and Visio. Primarily provide level three support for existing .NET applications and SSRS reports. Additionally, provide maintenance, and enhancements for existing .NET applications. Analysis and full life cycle development of systems for MTC business units. Execute at various levels and stages of project life cycle development including planning, analysis, development, testing, and support of existing and new systems.Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills with senior brokers, portfolio managers, traders and plan administrators (IRA , 401K, and alternative investors)Candidates must demonstrate experience working with and maintain production code written by other programmers. This is a production-support position with little new development but considerable enhancement to production .Net applications Analysis and full life cycle development of systems for MTC business units. Execute at various levels and stages of project life cycle development including planning, analysis, development, testing, and support of existing and new systems. Attention to detail, thoroughness, and diligence are required in all phases - analysis, testing, verification, and support. These phases are all as important if not more important than the actual coding/development phase in order to ensure a high level of quality and success in project execution. Practice a testing centric development methodology, contingency planning, and post deployment follow-up.Build and sustain relationships with internal and external clients based on mutual understanding, trust, and respect. Focus on identifying and meeting clients' needs in the most effective and efficient way. Interface with IT and internal business unit clients and external clients and counter-parties at all levels. Examine and collaborate on existing business processes, models, workflows, and data flows. Work with fellow developers and management to provide a unified front to clients. Communicate and track all issues, project work and priorities enabling a transparent perspective for clients. Work with IT developers and management to make certain that projects and tasks align with IT and business priorities. Ensure solutions are executed with the best processes and most applicable, efficient, and maintainable technologies. Be transparent and share knowledge and experiences with fellow developers, support, and management.Balance the demands of working on multiple, varying projects simultaneously while also responding to immediate needs/requests of clients. Simultaneously work on short/long-term tactical/strategic projects.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide production support investigating production issues/questions by tracing through logs, configurations, and code. Achieve proficiency in existing applications, databases, and business processes. Work in all phases of full life cycle development working independently and on small teams on new projects as well as maintaining and updating legacy and other developer's code and systems. Troubleshoot, debug, test, and optimize various application issues due to corrupted data, performance degradation, and misalignment with procedures/processes. Design and implement enhancements for existing and new systems. Maintain and support existing systems and special needs of clients. Provide analysis, development, and testing of existing and enhanced functionality. Understand business drivers and priorities behind projects. Forecast and ensure these projects are delivered on schedule. Ensure issues are tracked and communicated. When needed ensure issues are delegated and confirmed to ensure quick turnaround time. Highlight any concerns to management promptly. Be accountable for decisions made and work accomplished in your team. Focus on quality and accuracy to reduce the number of support occurrences and unscheduled maintenance releases. Be mindful of, plan, predict, and ensure capacity/load/performance aspects of systems and develop appropriate contingency and mitigation plans. Provide oversight of production systems and follow-up on production issues. Document and communicate all known support issues, procedures, and processes providing others with the understanding in order to ensure support in your absence. Discover, communicate, and execute opportunities to improve business security, accuracy, efficiency, and productivity. Exercise thorough testing as applicable to the type and size of the development at hand. Track and communicate work/tasks/demands/issues with supervisor. Provide weekly status reports to management.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field. Prior work experience in a financial services industry. Minimum of Five years of experience in IT as a Software Developer. Deep understanding of object-oriented design and programming concepts. Experience with object-oriented C# Console, Web, and Web Service full life cycle development. Experience in the development of complex financial, customer, client service, and back office web user interfaces and service application development. Experience interfacing and integrating with various third party systems. .Net Web and Web Service Application Development. IIS development/setup/support/security. HTML, XML, CSS, Angular, and JavaScript. SQL - Advanced Complex Queries for MS SQL Server. SQL - Use in user interface development, reporting, transactions, and PL. SSRS and SSIS. Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Office, Publisher, Visio, Project, SharePoint, TFS. Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTTP, JavaScript, Angular, AJAX, HTML and CSS. Prioritize, multi-task and complete tasks within timelines. Excellent analysis and problem solving abilities. Professional track record of superb interpersonal and communication skills.PREFERRED SKILLS: Certifications demonstrating current knowledge as a .Net Developer ActiveBatch Biztalk or similar EAI toolset Avoka Composer & Transaction Manager Salesforce Adobe Acrobat for authoring/editing of static/fillable/dynamic PDFs Adobe PDF Toolkit and iText API OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Infrequent travel; may need own transportation from time to time Ability to work occasional overtimeFinancial Services Company
