Minimum Salary: $69,813.80 annually Maximum Salary: $120,844.64 annually (maximum entry $85,525.04 per year) Benefits: Medical, dental and employee assistance plans are offered for the employee and dependents. The District also provides life insurance plans for the employee, as well as an 8.25% contribution to the State Teacher's Retirement plan. Additional types of insurance may be purchased with pre-tax dollars through an IRS 125 flexible benefit program. College/Site: Bakersfield College Location: BC-Main Campus Basic Function: Bakersfield College is seeking dedicated, experienced, and motivated individuals to provide leadership, engagement, and discipline expertise in continuing to move the program forward in innovative ways. As a full time faculty member at Bakersfield College, successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence. The successful candidate for the library position is expected to provide a wide range of reference and information services including but not limited to providing library instruction in a variety of settings; using current and emerging technology in reference and instruction duties; developing and maintaining the Library's electronic and print collection; instruct students in credit courses; develop, coordinate and assess library instruction and information competency programs for students and faculty; develop and coordinate programs to promote library resources and services to students. The assignment will be made based on the successful applicant's experience, background, and institutional need. This assignment may include providing services at various locations, different times, and with different modalities. Bakersfield College offers college courses and services in the greater Bakersfield area, rural communities, correctional facilities and high schools using the following modalities: traditional, face-to-face, online and interactive broadcasts. Other duties include: participation in student recruitment and articulation, transfer programs; maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computer and technology; assessment of program learning outcomes; collegial participation in departmental, college and discipline-specific professional activities. Education and Experience: Minimum Qualifications: Master's in library science, or library and information science; OR- The equivalent. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments in the field may be judged as equal to the stated minimum qualifications for this position.
