Industrial packaging manufacturer has invested in a brand new facility and capital equipment to expand it\\\'s product lines. They manufacturer a commodity product with large volume with serious competition and a few products that are more niched where there is very little to no competition.

They are doing well with their niche products and are looking to expand their commodity business, where the most growth potential is. This role will be responsible for all protective packaging lines. You will be the first outside sales rep they hire for this industrial packaging supplier, which means you will be expected to open up new distribution within industrial packaging. Your relationships will surely come in handy but you\\\'ll also have to know how to create demand at the end-user level and pull through distribution to differentiate yourself and bring value to the distributor.

Due to the market for their products, there is nowhere for this company to go but up. You can take pride knowing that you single-handedly started a protective packaging division essentially from scratch. This division is a key part of the company\\\'s overall growth strategy initiative.

Although the majority of the upside is in the commodity product line, the company has come up with several ways to separate itself from its competition. I would love to share those with you, if this is something that is a mutual fit.

Some of the nice aspects of this job is that you will be the packaging distribution expert within the company reporting directly to the President, who is accessible, but not a micro-manager. There will be zero red tape. Bureaucracy doesn\\\'t exist. Decisions are literally made with one phone call. The days of waiting for a decisions will be a thing of the past. Not only is this good for you as a sales rep, but customers appreciate this as well.

The company hasn\\\'t had any turnover on its sales team.

The compensation program will offer a base salary along with a residual, recurring commission on every net dollar sold, on a continuous basis, for the life of an account. This is a fairly uncommon practice on the packaging supplier side of the business. Most companies pay a bonus based on budget (which they increase each year). Not the case here. The President of the company has no problem if the sales rep makes the most money in the company. The more the rep makes, the more the company makes.

You must have prior documented success working with industrial packaging suppliers selling through industrial packaging distributors. The type of product experience you have isn\\\'t a determining factor. Whether you\\\'ve sold tape, stretch film, shrink film, strapping, packaging equipment, protective packaging, etc. isn\\\'t as important as your track record of success selling through industrial packaging distribution. You can live anywhere in the Southeast. Travel is dependent on where your packaging distributor relationships are based and where you reside.
